Houston's Food Truck Fest 2014

 

This weekend I attended the Houston's Food Truck festival at Stereo Live. I really enjoyed this festival and the atmosphere that was present even through the drizzling weather that tried to ruin the event. There was at least 15 food trucks there with everything from Mexican, Caribbean, Soul, Thai, and Dessert foods. There was live music, an eating contest, and a eating area with lounge seats and a big screen TV playing movies for the kids.

• The food was pretty versatile and most of it was pretty good. I did have a shrimp taco from one of the food trucks that I did not appreciate. (I wont throw no shade there way though).
• Cheap parking is always a good thing. Free parking is better, but I appreciated the fact that the parking was only $5.
• Variety and choices: with the different food trucks there, you had a bevy of different foods to try.

I loved the fact that they provided a comfortable and entertaining place to enjoy your food. The seating area which was located inside of Stereo Live, came equipped with stylish red love seats, tables for dining, and a huge TV screen playing various kids movies. Frozen and The Little Mermaid, were the 2 that me and my family saw while we were there. Also the drink station was located inside of this eating area, and if you bought a souvenir cup (as pictured above) you received unlimited refills on any drink (besides alcohol), and the price was only $5. You can't beat that deal. 

Did I mention they had an eating contest? This was extremely fun and entertaining to watch. It lasted about 15-20 minutes, and the guy that we were rooting for actually won the contest. 

There was also live music there, although we did not stick around to hear these guys.... :-(. There was also a disc jockey there playing enjoyable festival music (whatever that is). 

My favorite dish is pictured below by the food truck that is also below, and it was battered fried shrimp with fries, and it was only $3, yes folks $3, and the shrimp were very big, and the flavor was very good.
